About Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon
The oldest gravesite in the cemetery, that of Elizabeth Capen who died in 1760. Close by is that of Job Swift, one of Sharon’s first three Selectmen who was also a delegate to the Provincial Congress in 1774. In this same section once known as Sharon’s East Cemetery, people will see the most visited grave, that of Deborah Sampson Gannett of Revolutionary War fame who is also Massachusetts’ state heroine.
